HAPPY PRIDE MONTH

WOW another year has passed and it’s time for the US to celebrate during this month that gave the GLBT there freedom today. Still there is a long way to go we’re better off today than we were years ago running around in the closet scared to really be who you are. Fear of loosing your job or jailed and committed as most thought it was a disease or mental problem. It’s funny how everyone what to rule the world. Thanks god we have liberals who are standing up for Gay rights, especially in the marriage arena. Although we’ve making head way with this subject it’s slow going. I have double standard towards me as being a black man it’s found upon to be Black and gay. Although we know there are plenty of gay men in the world, its one of the reason why the Down Low came into play. The ones who are on the down low could be married and with children but still looking for something they are missing in their life. Saying they aren’t gay is and obvious statement as the way I feel about it when you lay down with a woman you are straight and when you lay down with a man you are gay. It’s like Bill Clinton saying I didn’t have sexual relations with that woman. One can debate about that but can you justify what you are doing? The way I see it a dog is still a dog. However it’s not just backs who run around as Hispanics aren’t innocent either. The Hispanic culture is more about family, good catholic back ground and I like that. However when a family member announces he is gay you are ousted in a heart beat. Will we as gay men and women every find peace with in this nation we live in? I don’t know. However we can stride to get here by celebrating what got us to this point. Pride is something we all should be proud of and remember out Queen Sisters and brothers for standing up to New York’s finest. Here we are close to forty years and for me I can say it’s great to be a gay man. For those who are interested to attend the parade here in Houston which is held at night by the way, it’s always held on the last weekend of the month. This year it’s Saturday the twenty seventh. This is usually and all day event with parade to follow before night falls and well into the night. It’s usually over around eleven o’clock. Again have a happy month my friends. Until fingers meet keys.

Memorial Day Weekend Is Coming.

Hey All
As you can see it’s been a while since I’ve written there. Try as I may I just can’t seem to find time to keep jotting things down these days. I’ve often thought of dropping the blog all together since my father is doing so well these days. There has been a lot going on in the Houston area. For one it’s been really wonderful weather the past few days. More like convertible weather which kind of makes me wish I still had mine. For now I will settle for what I have and be on with it. Hell the way the auto makers are dropping out of site it’s a wonder will we have dealers to go to after a while. Mother’s Day was really wonderful as the whole family was in present. We had some great BBQ and of course packed plates to go. I’m got pictures to edit and new articles also at the editors. However he’s slowing up my progress to get the next issue out. Trouble in the family and with this Swine Fu going around I can understand his concerns. So far none of my family member contracted anything as there are three family members who are teachers.

It makes you really wonder how all this has come to be. I have never heard of a swine flu until all this attention of it. Kind of like when AIDs came be. People were calling it the gay disease just as they are calling the swine fu a Hispanic disease. Folks are so quick to blame one race or another. My question is when will the madness end? I guess the world wouldn’t go round if it did. No real plans this weekend as I have to work on Monday so not celebration for me this holiday day unless it’s over the weekend. I’ve wanting to see the new Star Trek movie along with the X-Men Origins. There are a lot of them hitting the theaters over the summer months and for the most part I’ll wait until they come out on DVD. One I was really looking forward to seeing was Watchmen and to me it was a total disappointment, to long and slow at times. As they say you can’t judge a book by its cover. My boss is on vacation starting today and the office has been so relaxed. I’m really not looking forward to the red headed witch to return but such as life. To be honest she needs to go a head and retire. In the meantime I’ll maintain and move forward as I’m doing ok and thankful I have a government job and not worry about getting laid off or fired. Well that’s about it for now so until fingers meet keys again all have a good holiday and stay safe as well.

Easter Weekend Is Upon US.

WOW! Four months have passed and I keep asking myself. “Where has the time gone?” Still it’s nice that the year is moving right along. A lot has happen since I’ve written last. After a long hiatus from last year I’ve launched the next issues of the publication and been traveling as well. I loved Phoenix but wasn’t crazy about the men there. Of course I won’t go there with that but will leave it open for and article in one of my publication. Then again that’s in my opinion. I will have to say it’s a lovely city and the mountains were breath taking. I can say I wouldn’t like living there but summers would be a problem for me. I lucked out on bother my trips as the weather was very cooperative. March seems to be the right time to go to Phoenix indeed. Denver was a treat as well. However I did have a problem with the altitude there. Nose bleeds most mornings along with a slight headache and dizzy spells. Upon talking with the teller at the hotel she said I wasn’t the first one to have those issues and suggested that I drink plenty of water and take a couple of Aspirin about every five hours and it seem to solve the problem. I flew out of there just in time as a blizzard was heading in that day. Over all they were lovely trips and I got a lot accomplished in the process. The folks I did meet gave me a very warm welcome. Looking forward to heading back there in the future for vacation days. St. Louis is next on my list.

I got booted off B411 yet again as someone in Denver didn’t like me soliciting them for the publication so as of now I’m off that site for a while. I have to admit that I do miss it but it’s also been a blessing as I have been very productive since my departure from it. I was receiving a lot of emails from my on line friends who were inquiring about it as it’s been up for so long but it was good to know that I had people out there who were wondering about me also. They know I’m still alive as I keep sharing my emails. Weather in the Houston area has been really nice the past few weeks. Not to much rain, kind of like when I was in Phoenix. Taxes all done and that’s looking pretty also. At this point can say it’s been a wonderful year so far. Easter in a few days and I’m working Good Friday. I can use the comp time. It’s suppose to be 60% change of rain this coming Sunday. I hope it doesn’t spoil it for the kids going Easter egg hunting. Just watch out for the rotten eggs. Someone always thought that was funny when I was growing up. Over all I’m looking forward to my weekend. Won’t do much at work since it’s not going to be anyone here so I guess I’ll pick up some DVD’s and enjoy my evening. Well my friends all have a good Easter weekend also. I’ll try to do better as time rolls on but as I mentioned I have been so busy these days that I haven’t had time to focus on the blog. Busy is good for me these days anyway. Not to mention I’ve lost 25 pounds and I like that. Feeling really good about that indeed. As long as I can keep the stress down and watch what I’m eating I’ll be fine. I know my doctor like that. He’ll be surprises when I go in for my check up in a couple of months. Well again until fingers meet keys all have a good one and take care also. Hugs my friends.

2009 Happy New Year!

Happy New Year
Well 2009 has finally arrived and I feel super charged about it. Then again I can be very wrong about it as well. Still we take the change and move forward. 2008 wasn’t a good year for me or the family but I’m optimistic about this year especially now that we have a new President coming into office. Anything is better than what is in there now. Peace and Joy go with him indeed. There are a few folks around the office who say they will be there for the inauguration. Me I think I can see more from the television screen that I can in a crowd of folks. Yes it’s nice to make history but at what coast. I don’t do well with crowds either so it’s best I stay put. My schedule will be full this year as the publication comes off Hiatus with a new release soon. I tell you I have some really great friends out there. Although some friendships my come and go there will always be good memories during those times. Me and my best friend both had deaths in the family and it was nice to support one another though it all. Over all I want to wish all a very HAPPY New Year and may it be a prosperous one indeed.
